Repatriation, often called rematriation in North America, presents an opportunity to “polish” treaty relationships.
As a gesture of gratitude and acknowledgment for the return of a ceremonial mask and rattle, Kenneth Deer, a member of the Hodinohsho:ni External Relations Committee, presented two corn husk dolls to the Geneva Ethnography Museum. These dolls depict a Hodinohsho:ni woman and man adorned in traditional regalia and were made in Akwesasne, one of the 17 Hodinohsho:ni territories in North America. H. George
