One of the last letters Deskaheh wrote before leaving Geneva for the United States was to his friend René Claparède. It testifies to their deep friendship. Claparède played an important role in the history of human rights, in particular by founding the International Bureau for the Defence of Indigenous Peoples in 1908. S. Petrella
